TBT: Red Hot Chili Peppers

Written by LNTV Staff • January 5, 2017

Today is the big day! The Red Hot Chili Peppers kick off their long-awaited tour in San Antonio, Texas, beginning their four month-long trek through the North America.

In commemoration of this momentous occasion, we’ve rounded up a few photos from the vault to look back on some of the Chili Peppers’ greatest stage moments over the years. From helmets on fire to handstands mid performance, the funk rockers know damn well how to keep a crowd on its feet. Take a look through the gallery above to see the rockers in their prime, doing what they do best.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers’ latest LP, The Getaway, is the band’s eleventh studio album. Debuting at number one + within the top ten in multiple countries, including Australia, Canada, Germany, New Zealand, Belgium, Ireland, Switzerland, the U.K. and the U.S., it’s clear they’ve still got the world on lock. Securing Japan’s most metal female idols BABYMETAL—who’ve now toured with rock legends Guns N’ Roses and Metallica—to open for them through April, The Peppers aren’t messing around.

Catch the legendary Kiedis (and maybe even his son), Flea, Smith and Klinghoffer rock the stages at one of the dates below.
