Local Natives Follow The River In Epic 'Earthworks' Episode

Written by Emilee Lindner • June 13, 2017

We've seen musicians dig into nature in the epic Earthworks series from Live Nation and Viceland, and now, as a new episode approaches on Friday, we're jumping in once more.

Local Natives are featured in the episode, out on June 16, and they're traveling up the Colorado River to get in touch with California's drought.

"We all live in Los Angeles where there is this water scarcity, and that impacts our lives every single day," Local Natives say in the Earthworks trailer. "When we had the chance to follow the Colorado River and find out all the hundreds of factors that are going into this water crisis, we just immediately jumped at that."

Earlier in the Earthworks series, we got a glimpse at Animal Collective's journey to the Amazon, where they collected exotic sounds and investigated deforestation. In another episode, Miguel took his father and brother into a Mexican forest to make music together for the first time.

You can watch Earthworks on Live Nation's YouTube channel and live on Viceland (check your local listings here).
