Watch Animal Collective Head Into The Jungle on the New 'Earthworks' TV Series

Written by Emilee Lindner • May 30, 2017

Let's take a journey. Past the big cities and fast cars and into the wilderness of Brazil. That's what electronic trio Animal Collective did to create their Meeting of the Waters EP, released in April and the new TV show Earthworks captures the adventure. Watch the trailer of the Animal Collective episode above.

Produced by Live Nation in conjuntion with Viceland, Earthworks tells the story of three different artists immersing themselves in nature in order to find inspiration for their music and learn about humanity's impact on the planet. The first episode follows Animal Collective's trip to the rainforest. Local Natives and Miguel are also featured in the TV series, which premieres on June 2 on Viceland. (Check your local cable listings here). You can also catch episodes on Live Nation's YouTube channel.

In the new trailer, you can see Avey Tare and Geologist of Animal Collective discovering new territory as they sit on the rainforest floor, explore rivers on a boat , handle an enormous anaconda, and play in makeshift recording set-up on the beach. All the while their 2009 breakout "My Girls" glitters in the background, you can see colorfol flickers of exotic plants and wildlife -- the exact same fruits of Mother Nature that the band encounters throughout their trip.

Check out the trailer below above and tune into Viceland on June 2, and each Friday afterward to catch a new episode of Earthworks.
