At the end of the year, we like to make our music-related wishes known to the Universe. In 2016, some of our asks manifested (Hi Chance, Hi Rihanna!) and some we're re-upping for our 2017 list (looking at YOU, Lorde).
While 2016 gave us great things (Lemonade, Gwen Stefani on SnapChat), it also served up some severe blows to the cultural zeitgeist with the passing of Prince, David Bowie, Leonard Cohen and... well, we'll just stop there before we sink too deeply into a pit of depression.
There were some KILLER soundtrack songs unleashed this year--Twenty One Pilots "Heathens" for Suicide Squad, Elle King's "Good Girls" for the Ghostbusters reboot--but we're still aching for some of those valued contributors (P!nk, and again, Lorde) to give us just a little... more.
Mostly, we're just excited to see (and hear) what the new year will bring. Wishing all our faves a very happy holiday season and a reinvigorating new year. We'll be over here, sippin' on hot apple cider, waiting to absorb the fruits of your creative labor.
