It's looking to be a busy year for Donald Fagen. Not only is he playing The Classic with Steely Dan, but he just announced that his solo band, The Nightflyers, will be going on tour.

The Nightflyers, who were named after Fagen's 1982 debut solo album, The Nightfly, will embark on a 25-date tour, which starts August 3 and 4 in Port Chester, New York, and ends September 16 in San Francisco. They'll then head to Japan for the Yokohama Blue Note Jazz Fest a week later.

Fagen and the crew have been warming up for the tour with a few small gigs up the Hudson River, and he says that the shows will feature “some swell surprises,” according to Ultimate Classic Rock.

Tickets for The Nightflyers tour go on sale on April 28 at 10 a.m. and are available on

Fagen and Steely Dan bandmate Walter Becker toured last year on the The Dan Who Knew Too Much Tour, and are currently playing their nine-night Las Vegas residency. They have two shows planned before Fagen tours with The Nightflyers: one at The Classic West on July 15 and 16, and the other at The Classic East on July 29 and 30. Those shows will also include Earth, Wind & Fire, Journey, Fleetwood Mac, Eagles and the Doobie Brothers. Get your tickets for that here.
