If you don’t know about #FestivalBetter, perhaps you should get acquainted.
The hashtag was created by Tucker Gumber (more fondly known as The Festival Guy, to promote his app FestEvo. FestEvo wants to help us all “Festival Better” by giving us the info we need for festival season all in one place.
If this isn’t your first music festival, you probably already understand why this is great. People and events move rapidly at festivals, and it’s easy to miss opportunities to reconnect with old friends, see all the acts you want to see and discover new artists to love.
How does FestEvo help? The app has a master list of festivals throughout the world, and a simple search will get you all the festivals in your area and in your favorite genres. Once you decide where you want to go, there’s also a ridesharing feature that allows you to find fellow fans interested in carpooling to the event.
Furthermore, the app allows you to listen in advance to the artists who will be performing, saving you the time it takes to put together your own playlist to figure out your daily schedule in advance. FestEvo also uses Facebook to notify you if other users within your community are attending the same festival you are.
Gumber, The Festival Guy, is an expert in knowing what fest fiends need. Five years ago, he left his six-figure job to attend music festivals across the country. He’s been through the ritual of planning for festivals more than most, and he wants to help us find our perfect event, get there easily and connect with the right people to hang with once there.
We can only hope this type of interconnectivity grows, because as festivals grow and become more numerous, more and more people will want in on the action. Let’s all get together and #FestivalBetter.
