John Mayer Announces 2017 Solo Tour

Kicking off on March 31, the singer will make his way through North America and Europe

It’s a big day for John Mayer fans — the soft rock swooner is making his official return to life on the road this year with not just one, but two tours.

Preceding his Dead and Company Tour in June, the singer will be touring on his own in support of his upcoming album, The Search for Everything. It’s been a good while since we treated our ears to some new material from the Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter — four years, to be exact — so to simply say we are excited about this would be an understatement. His tour will kick off on March 31 at Times Union Center in New York and will run through North America and Europe to finish off at The O2 in London.

The full-length release of The Search for Everything is set for this spring. In a Facebook Live Q&A, Mayer describes the concept as "sort of like a mixtape of all the music that inspires me and all the styles that I've made before, but certainly in my own certain way of doing it.”

On Friday, January 20, the singer released the first wave of his new album to Spotify. The release already made its way to No. 1 on iTunes and made a home in the No. 2 slot of the Billboard 200. Wave One consists of four songs off of The Search for Everything, including his single “Love on the Weekend.” If you missed it, you can stream it right here:

Mayer tells Rolling Stone, “The price of admission is four songs. If you don’t like these, don’t get the next four. But if I’ve engendered some kind of trust that you think I’m onto something, get the next four, and come along with me on every single wave."

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on February 3 at 10AM via For more information on the tour and album, you can visit his official website.
