Firefly announced its lineup today and became the newest update of “Tour de Chance” 2017--but it gets even better. For the first time ever Bob Dylan and The Weeknd will play a show together. Why the lineup craziness? Because as of this year, Firefly has become a fan-curated festival--the first of its kind. Meaning that the public are responsible for a good amount of these acts on the lineup.
A few of our fave leading ladies are on the bill: Phantogram, Kesha, Misterwives, Daya. This is a huge revelation as, in the past, many festivals organizers have claimed the demand for women performers wasn’t quite there. Putting on a fan-curated festival and having promoters actively listen to the public is a major game changer.
Firefly's 2016 lineup boasted over 100 bands, led by Blink-182, Florence and the Machine and Mumford, so this years expansion into other genres comes as no surprise. Firefly rallied around it’s consumers and is currently holding the torch for “coolest festival of 2017” in our books. Other notable artists flocking to this wondrous event are Muse, Twenty One Pilots, Flume, Weezer, Dillon Francis, Glass Animals, Thirty Seconds to Mars, The Shins and plenty more. You can check out the full lineup below!
Beyond that, Chance is back and that’s all that truly matters. You can buy your tickets for his headlining show on the Firefly website soon!
The Delaware based festival takes place June 15-18 and we cannot wait to see how this year turns out.
