At an intimate show on Tuesday night at Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles, John Mayer played an acoustic set for some devoted fans. Little did they know they would also be serenaded by America’s favorite comedy genius, Dave Chappelle. After running through some of his classics, Mayer welcomed The Chappelle Show star to join him in performing a sweet rendition of Nirvana’s “Come As You Are” along with Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin'" Check out a fan clip below:

This wouldn’t be the first time these guys have joined forces to make for some very happy fans—Mayer made a guest appearance on The Chappelle Show back in 2004 for his “white people can’t dance” sketch. See this clip from back in the day:

The “Daughters” singer has made it clear that 2017 will be his reigning year—just a couple months ago, the 39-year-old soft rock king announced via Facebook live, "Next year is a year of more music coming than I’ve ever put out in one year.” Though we don’t have any more official news on his upcoming LP, The Search for Everything, we did get a taste of what’s to come in his performance on Jimmy Fallon last month.

Chappelle also has a big season on deck with some comedy specials to be released on Netflix this year, though we have no news on when. The stand-up comedian, whom Charlie Sheen referred to as the reason for his hospitalization, is working with director Stan Lathan to give us not one, not two, but THREE specials to come out simultaneously.

Maybe John Mayer will make another guest appearance? We can only dream.
