So you're not going to Coachella? Neither is 99.9999 percent of the world's population! That's why we're helping you out by telling you which bands are playing shows around Coachella, so that you can still make the trip with your friends and catch live music every night (and probably save a ton of money while you're at it.)

Check out these live shows going down in Southern California in the next two weeks that aren't Coachella. You're welcome!

The Last Waltz 40

Who: Warren Haynes, Dr. John, Jamey Johnson and more
What: The 40th anniversary of The Last Waltz film, which documented The Band's farewell show

Why: Watch the music of The Band recreated by Dr. John, Jamey Johnson, Terence Higgins, Danny Louis and an all-star horn section led by Mark Mullins featuring the original horn arrangements of Allen Toussaint.

Why: Since the 10th anniversary of The Game's breakout album, The Documentary, in 2015, the rapper has been capitalizing on the sucessful anniversary shows, in which he performs the LP in full, rolling them out even two years later. Come see the legendary 2005 album, which spawned hits like "How We Do" and "Hate It Or Love It," live.

The Head and the Heart

Gucci Mane

Why: Gucci Mane is scheduled for a Coachella set, but his show at The Observatory will be similarly monumentous. You see, Gucci is currently traveling on his first-ever tour. With about a trillion songs, it's about time he's playing these shows, so don't miss it.

Local Natives

Why: Local Natives are bringing their spring tour down the California coast, and if you buy a ticket, the proceeds will go to gender-based violence intervention and prevention programs.

Why: Before heading off to Europe to open for Iron Maiden, Shinedown are playing one last show in America.

Steely Dan

Lil Wayne

Why: Pixies are out on the road in support of last year's Head Carriers, and these shows have promised to give fans an interesting set-up, with a unique setlist every night and a stage design that has pods shooting lights behind the band.

David Crosby
