Another day, another Chance the Rapper show announced with a bunch of other artists. Nah, we’re just kidding… or are we?
This morning—or last night, if you're glued to the Internet—Bonnaroo announced it’s 2017 lineup to much appreciation of music lovers everywhere. Our favorite Grammy Nom and happiness-bringing rapper is obviously one of the big name artists, but amongst the elite are some surprises that we’re pretty stoked on. The festival will take place in Manchester, TN from June 8-11.
Major Lazer, Flume, Cage the Elephant, Marshmello, and Travis Scott are part of the big names on the performers list. Hopefully we can expect some interesting performance collabs from the artists on the lineup. Headliners this year include The Weeknd, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and U2. U2’s headlining announcement coincides with their recent The Joshua Tree album anniversary tour announcement. What a year for Bono and co. Maybe they’ll record their live performance and give it to us all in iTunes for free again… We wouldn’t hate it.
Lorde has become a staple festival act this year. Being announced for Coachella, Governor’s Ball, and now Bonaroo, we’re only hoping that she drops an album late one night, Beyoncé style. Are we dreaming? Probably. But we CAN dream, friends.
Tegan and Sara, The xx and Tove Lo will be performing as well, making Bonnaroo the third festival this year to actively include more women in their lineup. On that note, Deap Valley will also be playing the festival. It looks like 2017 festivals truly are stepping up to the plate when it comes to women performers and we could not be more stoked.
