Every year, Sammy Hagar and Metallica's James Hetfield pull together to host the Acoustic-4-A-Cure Benefit concert that supports the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital. Metallia's WorldWired Tour will be keeping Hetfield busy this time around, so the benefit has enlisted a very special guest: Dave Grohl will be standing in for Hetfield when Acoustic-4-A-Cure goes down at San Francisco's Fillmore on May 15.
There are loads of other musical guests too -- Grateful Dead's Bob Weir, Fleetwood Mac's Mick Fleetwood, Sarah McLachlan, Steve Vai, former Eagles guitarist Don Felder and Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo will also come together for the good cause.
As the title suggests, the concert is entirely acoustic, and in the past, it had metal head Hetfield slowing it down for a cover of The Beatles "In My Life" or inviting his 16-year-old daughter on stage to sing an Adele cover.
Tickets for the fourth annual shindig go on sale on March 31 at 10 a.m. PT on LiveNation.com. With your purchase, you'll be donating to the Pediatric Cancer Program at the children's hospital.
